Dear Friends and Family,
We hope you have enjoyed the holiday season and are looking forward to the New Year! It's winter in New England and that means...... we are off to somewhere warm, with no snow, no ice and no driving that is culturally interesting! We depart 6 January. This time, it's to SRI LANKA for a month, PHILIPPINES for a month, to LOMBOK and BALI, INDONESIA for a month, and finally, a brief return to SINGAPORE. We'll be back in early April, just in time to pay our taxes! LOL
Sri Lanka is new for me; Aaron visited when we were living in Singapore and we have both been to Bali a couple times and love it enough to return, this time as volunteers, again with our sponsor, International Volunteer Headquarters (IVHQ - http://www.volunteerhq.org).We will also be volunteering for 2 weeks with IVHQ in Sri Lanka as part of our month visit. Our bags are packed, my teaching supplies are replenished, Aaron's work gloves are in tow and we are ready to GO!

Neither of us have been to the Philippines, though it has been on our list since living in Singapore. We are glad to know the typhoon season has passed without doing too, too much damage to this beautiful place.
Lombok is new and Bali, well for those that have ever been, you know, it's Bali.....just culturally and beautifully... priceless! We plan to
meet fellow travelers; Donna and possibly Carol, who we met on our Costa Rica G
Adventures trip, and spend a few days exploring with them. This will be a
first to re-connect and travel with those we've met on an earlier
trip.
Finally, we couldn't be in the region without a return visit to Singapore, where we lived as ex-patriots for 2 years while I was working for Welch Allyn (WA). We even get a quick layover in Kuala Lumpur! We are looking forward to returning, visiting the Welch Allyn office and seeing some of our friends.
